1. Always run your power drill in a clockwise direction at low-to-medium speeds to prevent the threaded rod joints from unscrewing inside the duct or flue.

2. Ensure all extension rod connections are screwed together tightly before feeding the assembly deeper into high-elbow chimney flues.
